Accompanying a dreamy fairground tempo, her sensitive plea rises and descends like the Ferris wheel as she observes a blurry idyll from a high vantage point and deeply yearns to return to that place of spontaneity and freedom. It is a place where people get high on cotton candy, dance in the sand, and wear their glowing hearts on their bosoms, unafraid to break them. She finds her way back there by guiding somebody else in.

The death march of a crumbling world is impossible to ignore completely – but Weyes Blood makes a convincing, hopeful case for why that is no reason to walk around with a blackened heart.
