“Fallin'” marks Why Don’t We’s first release since they began their eight-month hiatus at the start of 2020, following their 2019 project in which they released a single each month.
The single was released at 12PM ET on September 29, 2020 just two days after the band’s four-year anniversary.
Interestingly, Why Don’t We featured a song called “Falling” on the debut album, 8 Letters, released in 2018. Upon the release of “Fallin'”, the track named was changed to “Can’t You See” on streaming services.
On October 23, 2020, the song’s title was changed to “Fallin' (Adrenaline)” on streaming services to further distinguish itself from “Can’t You See.”
In an Instagram post the band shared:
fallin’ was the last song we wrote in the studio and the first one we wanted to share with you. there’s no other way to describe it except it just felt right. we can’t wait for you to hear it.
