“Best Friends 4L” marks the second collaboration between YNW Melly and Lil Tjay since Lil Tjay’s “Ready For War” track back in December of 2018. It is the fourth and final single leading up to the release of Melly’s sophomore album, Just A Matter of Slime. On the track, YNW Melly and Lil Tjay rap about their experience dealing with relationships and women.

An early version of the track known as “Bestfriend” was leaked on June 13, 2021. The most notable difference between the two is that YNW Melly had a verse in the leaked version.

The track was accompanied by a music video directed by DrewFilmedIt featuring Melly’s girlfriend Redbone having her birthday party.
