SATIVA Lyrics

INTRO:

HOOK:
Woke up, light it up
Time for us to crumple
Get you good, get you high
Time to make you humble
Go ahead, text your ex
Maybe they will come thru
All that noise, in your head
Maybe it'll stop too

Oh na-na (Oh na-na)
Oh na-na-na (Oh na-na)
Is this sativa?
Where'd you get the ganja? (Whoa)
Oh na-na (Where you get it from?)
Oh na-na-na (Where you get it from?)
Is this sativa?
Where'd you get the ganja? (Aye, yuh)

Genius Annotation

“SATIVA” is a new single by 2 Flex Entertainment artists: Young Ryan G & Emily Finchum. The song started off pretty much when Young Ryan G uploaded a “Ugly God x MrHeadA$$Trendy type beat” to his YouTube channel on April 16th, 2021. He used a sample from Jhene Aiko’s song, “SATIVA”. When Emily sent her hook verse to Ryan, he began to record his verse and sent everything to Flex Entertainment executive, Lil Mosquito Disease to mix them. Couple weeks later after the song was completed but still wasn’t released, Ryan listened to the song one last time, and thought to himself that maybe his verse was too awful. But still, he wanted to release the song. So, he thought “why not remake it”? He logged on to his laptop, went the the “Fruity Loop Project” where he made the original “SATIVA” beat and switched it up a bit. He added Emily’s hook verse to it and began writing a different verse to it. Recorded his vocals and edited them himself. After the song was finally completed, he sent the song to Emily and she replied “That sounds fucking fire. Please release it.” The single was released on September 17th, 2021. Couple weeks later after it was release to all streaming platforms, the single reached 1,000 streams on Spotify. It became Young Ryan G’s most popular song on his Spotify profile.
