Classified as a “CHARLAMAGNE DISS” in the music video’s title, “Act A Donkey” is YoungBoy’s response track to Charlamagne Tha God’s comments about YoungBoy’s recent statements on fatherhood. In Bootleg Kev’s latest interview with the Baton Rouge rapper, YoungBoy stated the following:
I’m not really big on [fatherhood], to be honest. […] I’m not the type to sugarcoat nothing. But I’m four walls all day… every day.
He stated that he doesn’t really make time for his children as he mostly focuses on making music and stays “locked in” to do so, coinciding with YoungBoy’s current life on house arrest and being separated from several of his children and their mothers. The interview excerpt stands against the “family man” persona many fans know YoungBoy for.
Charlamagne Tha God said the following on The Breakfast Club (a radio show he is a host of) about YoungBoy’s comments:
He has 11 kids, but in his words, he’s ‘not really big’ on fatherhood. NBA YoungBoy is treating fatherhood the way the NBA’s Nikola Jokic treats the NBA. You ever hear Jokic talk about basketball? The same level of don’t-give-a-eff that Jokic has about basketball, NBA YoungBoy seems to have about being a father to his 11 kids. The title of the track is a play on The Breakfast Club’s “Donkey Of The Day” award, which YoungBoy was awarded by Charlamagne.
