Day began performing the song on tour in the summer of 2016, and released it on October 21. In a recent interview, Day reported the song was actually not about her, but derived from a friend. She tells us one of her friends went on a date to the “New York Dream Room”, a small, secluded home in the bustle of NYC. There are rooms covered head to toe in pale neon lights, where you just sit in and sort of zone out, as if being in a trance. She took the feeling her friend described, and the scenario, to create a song channeling the energy. A psychedelic and illume piece of artistry that certainly does have the ability to make you feel as if you have been transported to an alternate place in time & space.
