2Pac Will Be Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Journey, Pearl Jam, and more will receive the honor this year, too.

2Pac is now the sixth hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Pac now joins the ranks of Run-D.M.C., Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, and N.W.A

Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra, Journey, Pearl Jam, and Yes will be inducted this year, as well. Plus, Nile Rodgers will be receiving the Award for Musical Excellence.

In order to be eligible, artists “must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination,” according to a press release from The Hall of Fame. 2Pac’s debut single, “Brenda’s Got a Baby,” was released in October 1991 and appeared on his debut album, 2Pacalypse Now.
