Calvin Harris Reunites With PARTYNEXTDOOR On His New Single “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready”

It sounds like the producer has something big in the works.

After collaborating last year on “Cash Out,” Calvin Harris and PARTYNEXTDOOR link up once again for the former artist’s new single “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready.” A departure from the sound of Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, Harris' new single dips heavily into Caribbean musical influences. He also shared a trippy, lo-fi video for the track.

On the track, PND sings in a heavy patois:

Mi and di mandem
We haffi run from half of di gyal dem
So sweet, so sweet
Don’t want mi children and ting'
Mi nuh ready fi all dem tings

Harris recently told Zane Lowe that he felt he had “underutilized” PND on his last album. “I just know his pen, his voice and his delivery is among the best in the world,” he said. “I worked with him on my last album and I was aware that I underused him. I felt embarrassed and ashamed for underusing him.”

In a recent tweet, Harris promised that “Nuh Ready Nuh Ready” is the first taste of a “whole new experience” that doesn’t represent a sequel to Funk Wav Bounces (as the Vol. 1 implied). So far, not much is known about what to expect, but if the rollout is anything like his last album, it may stretch out over the course of several months and include a number of high-profile collaborators.
