Chance The Rapper & Lil Yachty Reunite On “Atlanta House Freestyle”

The two rappers previously collaborated on 2016's “Mixtape.”

Although his debut album isn’t set to drop until July, Chance the Rapper surprised fans today with the release of “Atlanta House Freestyle,” a new track with Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty. It’s the two artists' second collaboration, following 2016’s Coloring Book track “Mixtape.”

True to the song’s title, Chance takes a few bars to address the size of his crib:

The house is too big, I got hella waiters
The nanny got stuck in the elevator
Just give me the key to the microwave
The safe is too big to hide the safe
The wave is too big to ride the wave

Meanwhile, Yachty shouts out Regina King, who voiced both Huey and Riley Freeman in the classic cartoon series The Boondocks:

24 karat, all gold, like a young king
These niggas playin' both parts like Regina King

“Atlanta House Freestyle” is produced by EarlThePearll, who works frequently with Yachty and scored a charting hit in 2019 with City Girls“Act Up.” It’s Chance’s first new song as a lead artist since he dropped “The Man Who Has Everything” and “My Own Thing” in November 2018.

Chance revealed that the two rappers recorded the song just a few days ago:

Chance’s last full-length project was the holiday-themed Merry Christmas Lil Mama with Jeremih, but his new album is set to serve as the proper follow-up to 2016’s Coloring Book. Last year, Chance said he would be working with Kanye West on his new album, which was set to be titled Good Ass Job, but it’s unclear if those plans moved forward or not. He’s previously referred to his upcoming project as his debut album, although Coloring Book blurred the lines between an album and a mixtape by dropping as an Apple Music exclusive upon its release.
