Chance The Rapper Remixes A Backstreet Boys Classic For Doritos’ Super Bowl Ad

He flips “I Want It That Way” with some help from the original group.

As Super Bowl LIII approaches, more brands are rolling out their commercials ahead of the big game. Following spots by Cardi B and 2 Chainz, Doritos unveiled its own star-studded advertisement featuring Chance the Rapper and Backstreet Boys. Inspired by the flavor of Doritos' new flavor, Chance delivers a remix of Backstreet Boys' 1999 smash “I Want It That Way.”

On the track, Chance delivers an on-brand verse about Doritos:

Ooh, hot stuff all over my nachos
Walkin' like a taco
Driving over potholes
Hotter than a pot roast

Chance gets some backup from Backstreet Boys, who are in the midst of a comeback themselves thanks to the charting success of “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” last year.

This isn’t Chance’s first time making a catchy song for a company. In 2016, Chance appeared a commercial for Kit Kat, flipping the brand’s famous “Give me a break” jingle. One year later, he lent his talents to an 1800 Tequila commercial.

Backstreet Boys' 1998 track hit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and served as the lead single for the group’s third album, Millennium. Although several Backstreet Boys songs reached higher chart peaks, “I Want It That Way” has exhibited an enduring legacy in popular culture. In the years since its release, the song has been parodied on multiple occasions and covered by Selena Gomez, Charli XCX, Ryan Adams, Alabama Shakes, the cast of the Fox sitcom Glee, and more.
