Following the smash success of “thank u, next,” Ariana Grande dropped her new single, “imagine,” today. The song is produced by Happy Perez, JProof, and Andrew “Pop” Wansel, and finds Grande pining over a fantasy romance.
On the track, Grande sings about a simple romantic encounter where her worldwide celebrity is cast aside:

This is a pleasure, feel like we never act this regular
Later on, she sings about how the man in question came into her life unexpectedly:

Grande explained to fans on Twitter that “Imagine” is meant to balance out the self-confident energy of “thank u, next” with the more vulnerable emotions in her life:
Grande’s new album, thank u, next, doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but is expected to drop before her Sweetener world tour in March 2019.
