Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, & Miley Cyrus Team Up On “Don’t Call Me Angel”

This is the lead single off the soundtrack for the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot.

Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, and Miley Cyrus just released their collaborative song, “Don’t Call Me Angel.” This fusion of pop’s biggest names is the lead single off the soundtrack for the upcoming Charlie’s Angels film, starring Kristin Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska.

The newfound trio’s assertive twist on a love song features lines like:

Keep your pretty mouth shut

Just because “Don’t Call Me Angel” is the theme song, that doesn’t mean the pop stars can’t contradict the movie title, as Del Rey sings:

We in it together but don’t call me angel

“We were inspired by ‘Independent Women’ and Destiny’s Child with the last set of movies,” director Elizabeth Banks told PEOPLE about the song. “I feel really grateful that this incredible group of artists took inspiration from these films as well and felt like working together as women, and [it] thematically matched up with the exact movie that we were making.”

The “thank u, next” singer tweeted about her love for her collaborators’ voices:

Elsewhere, the soundtrack includes Grande’s team-up with Victoria Monét on “Got Her Own,” which they’ve previously performed during the pop A-lister’s Sweetener tour. The two previously released “MONOPOLY” together. When asked why they included the track on the OST, Grande replied:

Del Rey recently sat down at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform a cover of Grande’s “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored.”

Back in 2015, Cyrus and Grande performed a duet of Crowded House’s 1986 hit, “Don’t Dream It’s Over” for the former’s Happy Hippie Backyard Sessions–and they later performed the track at the One Love Manchester benefit concert in 2017.
