A$AP Rocky Joins Tame Impala On Stage At Coachella To Perform “Sundress” & “L$D”

Rocky sampled the Australian psych-rock group last year.

Over the weekend, A$AP Rocky surprised fans by joining Tame Impala on stage during the band’s headlining Coachella set. The Harlem rapper performed his recent single, “Sundress,” before running through 2015’s “L$D.”

“Sundress” was released in November 2018 as Rocky’s first single since his third studio album, TESTING, and is produced by Danger Mouse, Hector Delgado, Syk Sense, and Rocky himself. It heavily samples Tame Impala’s 2010 track, “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind?”

“L$D” appears on Rocky’s sophomore album, AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP. It features production by Hector Delgado, FnZ, Jim Jonsin, and Rocky. On the track, he raps about his love for the psychedelic drug after which it’s named:

I’m ridin' ‘round with my system bumpin’ LSD
I look for ways to say “I love you”
But I ain’t into makin' love songs
Baby, I’m just rappin' to this LSD

In March, Tame Impala returned from a four-year hiatus with “Patience,” the lead single from the band’s upcoming fourth album. The group recently released its follow-up single, “Borderline,” after premiering the track on Saturday Night Live.

A$AP Rocky also joined YG on stage at Coachella during the Compton rapper’s set to perform their collaboration “Handgun.”
