A$AP Rocky Samples Moby’s 2000 Hit “Porcelain” On His New Single “A$AP Forever“

He also debuted a track titled “Distorted Records.“

After dropping a series of short songs and freestyles over the past few weeks, A$AP Rocky appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night to debut “A$AP Forever,” the first official single from his upcoming album Testing. During the performance, he also showed off another track titled “Distorted Records,” and he later shared the “A$AP Forever” music video:

“A$AP Forever“—produced by frequent Rocky collaborator Hector Delgado—samples “Porcelain,” the 2000 song by electronic musician and singer Moby that was prominently featured in the Leonardo DiCaprio film The Beach. On the song’s outro, Moby’s vocals are mixed with those of singer-songwriter Khloe Anna:

In my dreams, I’m dying all the time
True to truth somehow
But never truly lied at all, then and now
Then I wake, it’s kaleidoscopic mind

Moby is best known for the massive success of his early 2000s albums Play and 18 as well as “Porcelain” and his Top 20 hit “South Side” with Gwen Stefani. Fans may also remember his feud with Eminem, who dissed Moby on 2002’s “Without Me.”

Meanwhile, “Distorted Records” finds Rocky delivering a challenge to rappers who bite his style:

Little niggas is my offsprings
They deserve a niggas, first name, middle name, third name

“Distorted Records” isn’t available on streaming services yet, but it was prominently featured in his Tonight Show performance:

Testing doesn’t have an official release date yet, but is expected to be dropping sometime soon.
