Bad Bunny’s ‘YHLQMDLG’ Is The Highest Charting All-Spanish Album In Billboard 200 History

It debuts at No. 2 behind Lil Baby’s ‘My Turn.’

Bad Bunny makes history this week on the Billboard 200, as his second studio album, YHLQMDLG, enters at No. 2 on the chart. The project lands just behind Lil Baby’s My Turn, with 179,000 equivalent album units. According to Billboard, this makes it the highest charting all Spanish-language album ever.

Of that sum, YHLQMDLG racked up 142,000 streaming equivalent album units (translating to 201.4 million on-demand streams), scoring Bad Bunny the biggest streaming week ever for a Latin album. He also earns the largest week for a Latin title since Billboard began tracking albums by equivalent album units in December 2014.

It’s worth noting that the project dropped on Saturday at midnight, giving it one less day in the tracking week than My Turn.

Prior to YHLQMDLG, the highest charting all Spanish-language albums were Shakira’s Fijación Oral: Vol. 1 (2005) and Maná’s Amar es Combatir (2006)—both of which peaked at No. 4.

Over on the Top Latin Albums chart, YHLQMDLG debuts at No. 1, making it Bad Bunny’s third effort to top the chart. The project follows his debut album, X 100PRE, and J Balvin collaboration, OASIS.

Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, Lil Baby earns his first No. 1 on the chart as My Turn debuts with 197,000 equivalent album units. Other notable debuts include G Herbo’s PTSD, which opens at No. 7 to give the Chicago rapper his first Top 10 album.
