Billie Eilish Pays Tribute To Her Brother Finneas In The “Everything I Wanted” Video

Finneas co-writes and produces Billie’s music.

Just a few days out from her 2020 Grammys performance, Billie Eilish unleashed the video for her latest single, “everything i wanted.” In the clip, she pilots a car with her brother FINNEAS as the passenger, before driving into the ocean and drowning alongside him.

Eilish previously explained that the song is inspired by their brother-sister relationship.

“The message behind the song is like… My brother is my best friend, and I have these dreams and these things happen, and no matter what happens, he’s gonna always be there for me, and it’s the same the other way around,” she told Annie Mac last year.

This corresponds with the song’s lyrics, where she sings:

And you say, “As long as I’m here, no one can hurt you
Don’t wanna lie here, but you can learn to
If I could change the way that you see yourself
You wouldn’t wonder why you hear ‘they don’t deserve you’”

“everything i wanted” is produced and co-written by FINNEAS, and served as the pop star’s first single since dropping WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?. The song peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last year, and currently sits at No. 22.
