Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak Hit No. 1 With Their Debut Silk Sonic Single “Leave The Door Open”

It’s .Paak’s first chart-topping hit.

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s team-up as Silk Sonic promised to provide fans with smooth R&B stylings and a huge dose of commercial appeal. Just over a month after they debuted their first single, “Leave the Door Open,” the singers have a No. 1 hit on their hands. Billboard reports that “Leave the Door Open” rose from No. 3 to No. 1 this week, displacing last week’s chart topper, Lil Nas X’s “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name).”

The Silk Sonic single racked up 21.5 million on-demand streams and sold 28,600 copies. It’s the eighth No. 1 single for Mars and the first for .Paak, who previously topped out at No. 89 with his feature on Eminem’s “Lock It Up.” Mars first hit the top of the chart in 2010 with B.o.B’s “Nothin' On You,” and last reached the top with 2017’s “That’s What I Like.”

“Leave the Door Open” is set to appear on Mars and .Paak’s upcoming Silk Sonic album, which doesn’t have a release date just yet but is expected to drop sometime this year.

Lower down the chart, Olivia Rodrigo made a second splash with her new single, “deja vu.” The “drivers license” follow-up hit No. 8 on the Hot 100 chart his week.
