Doja Cat & Nicki Minaj’s “Say So” Remix Hits No. 1 On The Billboard Hot 100 Chart

They beat out Megan Thee Stallion & Beyoncé’s “Savage Remix” in the process & scored their first No. 1s.

Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion went head to head this week, with both artists earning high-profile remixes of their respective hit songs, “Say So” and “Savage,” courtesy of Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé. Now, a winner has emerged. ‘Say So" reached No. 1 on this week’s Hot 100 chart, Billboard reports, managing to edge out “Savage” in the process.

It’s the career-first No. 1 for both Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj, and Nicki’s 109th Hot 100 entry. She broke the record for longest wait for a No. 1 hit in terms of both total chart entires and time from her first chart entry to first chart topper. The former record was held by Justin Bieber, who had 46 chart entries before his first No. 1 with “What Do You Mean?” in 2015. The latter was held by Kid Cudi, who saw 11 years pass between “Day ‘N’ Nite” debuting on the Hot 100 and “The Scotts” reaching No. 1. She previously topped out at No. 2 with “Anaconda” in 2014.

“Savage” lands at No. 2 this week, marking the highest chart position of Megan’s career. Beyoncé already boasts six career No. 1s as a solo artist. The success of both “Savage” and “Say So” this week marks a history moment for female rap songs on the Hot 100 chart. “Say So” is now the first female rap collaboration to lead the Hot 100 chart.
