DJ Snake recently scored a Latin crossover hit by linking with Ozuna, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez on “Taki Taki,” which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has racked up well over 1 billion YouTube views to date. Now, the French DJ and producer has stepped into the world of Atlanta trap with his Sheck Wes collaboration, “Enzo,” featuring Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, and Offset. The posse cut is an ode to luxury cars, including the coveted Enzo Ferrari for which it’s named. Production is handled by Sickdrumz, YungLunchBox, and DJ Snake himself.

In an interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, Snake said “Enzo” was two years in the making. The producer first reached out to Sheck long before the Harlem rapper scored a breakout hit with “Mo Bamba.”
“I was watching the first Sheck Wes video called ‘Live Sheck Wes,’” Snake said. “It was maybe [at] 10, 20 thousand views, and I was like, ‘This kid is special.’”
The timeline means Snake also connected with Sheck prior to singer Justine Skye being granted a domestic violence restraining order against the “Mo Bamba” rapper in February 2019. In the restraining order request, Skye cited an incident on July 26, 2018 where she claims Sheck “threatened to punch me in the face, headbutted me, told me he was going to ‘hurt me.’”
“Enzo” isn’t Snake’s first foray into hip-hop. He previously linked up with Atlanta’s Lil Jon on 2013’s “Turn Down for What.” The single remains one of his biggest hits, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
