Eminem Curses Out Drew Brees & References George Floyd On Kid Cudi’s “The Adventures Of Moon Man & Slim Shady”

It’s Cudi’s second solo single of 2020.

Back in May, Kid Cudi sent out a mysterious tweet asking for Eminem’s help on an unspecified matter. Now, the two artists have linked up on wax for Cudder’s new single, “The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady.” The song is produced by Cudi’s longtime collaborator, Dot Da Genius, as well as J Gramm and Eminem.

Eminem addresses several hot-button issues on the track, including cursing out New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees. The QB apologized earlier this year after saying he still doesn’t respect protesting the national anthem even in light of the Black Lives Matter movement:

Got a lil' green (Yeah), but I don’t do weed (Nope)
Purp nor lean (Nah), that’s Tunechi (Yeah)
That’s New Orleans (What?), f-ck Drew Brees (Yeah)

He also references the COVID-19 pandemic:

Bunch of half-wits up in office (What?)
Half of us walking around like a zombie apocalypse
Other half are just pissed off and (Yeah)
Don’t wanna wear a mask and they’re just scoffing
And that’s how you end up catching the sh-t off ‘em
I just used the same basket as you shopping
Now I’m in a f-ckin’ casket from you coughin' (Damn)

He finishes off the verse with references to George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, two Black men who died at the hands of police officers and sparked nationwide protests against police brutality:

Prayers to George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery (Yeah)
How the f-ck is it that so many cops are dirty? (Huh?)
Stop, man, please, officer, I’m sorry
But I can’t breathe when I got you on top of me
Your goddamn knee’s on my carotid artery

Meanwhile, Cudi opens up about his 2016 stint in rehab for depression and suicidal urges:

Years ago, rehab
All good, helped me figure out another plan
It got bad, so bad
Nah, I ain’t f-cking love that, man
Then I hopped out in a new zone with my Louis bag
True story, take you through the dark and the light (Yeah)

Back in 2015, Eminem shouted Cudi out on the Bad Meets Evil song “All I Think About,” prompting a response from Cud:

“The Adventures of Moon Man & Slim Shady” is Cudi’s second solo single of 2020, following “Leader of the Delinquents” back in April. He also linked up with Travis Scott for the joint single, “The Scotts.” That track became the first No. 1 hit of Cudi’s career.
