It’s set to appear on the ‘Love Simon’ soundtrack.

Former Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello may have grabbed the most headlines with her solo work thus far, but the remaining members of the group are also ready to step into the spotlight. Following Lauren Jauregui’s work with Halsey and Ty Dolla $ign, Normani (a.k.a. Normani Kordei) delivers her solo debut with “Love Lies,” a collaboration with El Paso, Texas singer Khalid. The song is produced by DIGI, Charlie Handsome, and Jack Antonoff, and is set to appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming film Love Simon.

They later shared the song’s Los Angeles-set music video:

“Love Lies” finds the two artists trying to figure each other out, duetting on the chorus:

So baby, tell me where your love lies
Waste the day and spend the night
Underneath the sunrise
Show me where your love lies

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, Normani explained how her long-standing friendship with Khalid helped the track come together:

[Khalid] is definitely such an amazing soul and I think that that’s why this record means so much to me personally. I know that it means a lot to him as well, it’s just because we’re genuine friends. Like, this wasn’t an A&R, like somebody just putting us in a room together and being like, ‘Yo, make something dope.’ It was literally like, I met him way back when he did ‘Young, Dumb & Broke.’ He actually invited me and that was the first time we physically met in person, we had been talking for a minute, but he was just such a special person and I think that he’s such a necessary artist, but he’s an even better person.

She also discussed what to expect from her upcoming solo project and why it doesn’t mean the end of Fifth Harmony:

Love Simon drops on Friday, March 16, and the full soundtrack is set to debut on the same day.
