Francis & The Lights Releases Updated “Take Me To The Light” With Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, & Bon Iver

“Heaven is a flight, don’t leave me outside.”

Francis and the Lights return today with the official release of “Take Me to the Light.” The song features contributions from Kanye West, Bon Iver, Chance the Rapper, and Caroline Shaw, and is available exclusively on the Francis Farewell Starlite-fronted group’s website. A demo version of “Take Me to the Light” was released late last year without a Chance feature.

On his verse, Chance raps about going to heaven and his relationship with God:

You ain’t lyin'
Heaven is a ride, I just wanna ride
I just wanna try, somethin' new tonight
Heaven is a flight, don’t leave me outside (Ooh)
Take me every time, every time
It’s a giant water slide, don’t you hang me out to dry

Meanwhile, Kanye handles the chorus:

And you still take me to the light every time
You still take me to the light
It seem like our stars align

It’s the latest collaboration between Francis and Chance, who previously worked together on songs like “All We Got,” “Do You Remember,” and “Summer Friends.” Francis also worked with Kanye on tracks like “All Mine” and “Selah.”

Francis Starlight previously revealed that “Take Me to the Light” will serve as the title track for his next album, his first since 2017’s Just For Us.
