French Montana On Drake & Kanye West’s Beef: “Brothers Always Fight”

The rapper’s 2018 hit, “No Stylist,” features Drake dissing Kanye’s Yeezy sneakers.

Last year, French Montana teamed up with Drake on “No Stylist,” which features the latter rapper taking a shot at Kanye West. During an appearance on Complex’s series, Sneaker Shopping, French opened up about the beef.

“Brothers always fight, and I feel like that’s what they was going through at the moment,” French told host Joe La Puma. “They live next door to each other. I just felt like they was brothers and they was fighting. I fight with my brothers all the time.”

On Drake’s “No Stylist” verse, he takes a shot at Kanye’s Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers:

Yeah, keepin' it G, I told her “don’t wear no 350s ‘round me”

Drake and the Chicago rapper had a falling out in 2018 after a complicated series of events that centered around Pusha-T’s “Story of Adidon” diss track exposing the existence of Drake’s son, Adonis. Drake claimed that Kanye tipped Pusha off, but Kanye denied any involvement and Pusha later said he learned about it from a woman who was romantically involved with Drake’s frequent producer, 40.

Another component of their beef was Kanye releasing “Lift Yourself” as a troll song with nonsensical lyrics rather than letting Drake have the beat. In December 2018, Kanye went on a Twitter rant after Drake sought clearance for the Kanye-produced song, “Say What’s Real.”

Kanye called out Drake for the “No Stylist” line and accused the OVO boss of “sneak dissing” him on Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE”:

Genius previously broke down everything you need to know about Drake and Kanye’s beef:

For now, the feud remains quiet—although Kanye has flipped “SICKO MODE” into a gospel song at Sunday Services.
