Kodak Black Seems To Take Aim At 6ix9ine On “Take One”

“He portrayin’ to the media he gangsta.”

Kodak Black is one of many rappers who have been engaged in a war of words with 6ix9ine, the ever-controversial Brooklyn MC. Today, Kodak dropped his latest single, “Take One,” which seems to be aimed squarely at his rival. Although they’ve been at odds for a while now, things heated back up in early October, when a fan commented on Kodak’s Instagram claiming 6ix9ine was a better rapper. The ensuing exchange of words brought their bad blood back to the surface, and now, it looks like Kodak is addressing things on wax.

On the song’s chorus, he alludes to their IG beef:

That nigga dissin' on the ‘Gram, but I ain’t say nothin’
I ain’t trippin, I'ma get him when that day come

Soon after, he raps about someone not having the street cred that they portray online:

Yeah, we ran down fooly, he a wankster
He portrayin' to the media he gangsta

Kodak also seemingly alludes to 6ix9ine’s July 2018 kidnapping which was reportedly orchestrated by a disgruntled former member of his crew. During the incident, 6ix9ine was reportedly held at gunpoint and forced to hand over thousands of dollars in cash and jewelry:

Niggas gettin' kidnapped just to show you that it’s real
Niggas gettin' snatched, showin' you niggas know right where you live
When you dissin' me, nigga, that better be really how you feel
‘Cause I ain’t takin’ no apologies, I don’t care if it’s sincere

Both rappers have been embroiled in a series of recent controversies. Kodak was incarcerated on marijuana possession, gun theft, and child neglect charges earlier this year. Although the gun and child neglect charges were eventually dropped, and Kodak was released from prison, he still faces an unresolved sexual assault case in South Carolina.

6ix9ine, meanwhile, was recently sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance in 2015. The rapper received the additional sentence after repeatedly violating the terms of his original plea agreement. Yesterday, he publicly fired his entire team, and claimed in an interview with The Breakfast Club that people were stealing tour money from him.
