Kendrick Lamar Calls Out Rihanna’s Former Accountant On “FEAR.”

“How did the bad girl feel when she looked at them numbers?”

Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna collaborated for the first time on the DAMN. track “LOYALTY.,” but her presence on the album isn’t limited to that one song. The Compton MC also references her negligent former accountant on the project’s 12th track “FEAR.,” which is produced by The Alchemist.

On the third verse, Kendrick raps:

Rihanna filed a $35 million lawsuit against her former accountant, Peter Gounis, in 2012 for poor financial advice that led to her losing nearly $9 million in a single year. She also claimed that he failed to file her taxes, didn’t properly recover millions of dollars in royalty payments, and hid the fact that her Last Girl On Earth tour wouldn’t turn a profit. He even convinced her to buy a $7 million Beverly Hills mansion that turned out to be filled with rot and mold. She later sold the property at a $2 million loss. Rihanna and Gounis eventually settled the case for $10 million.

This incident is said to have inspired the Bajan pop star’s 2015 hit “Bitch Better Have My Money,” on which she sings:

In the video, Rihanna tortures and eventually murders a fictionalized version of the accountant and his wife. The track peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015, although it didn’t end up making her most recent album, ANTI.
