Kim Petras Sings Her Collaborator’s Real Phone Number On “Got My Number”

Jesse Saint John is known for working with Charli XCX, Britney Spears & The Neighbourhood.

On her new single “Got My Number,” Kim Petras makes sure the lyrics are realistic by including the actual number of her friend and collaborator, the singer-songwriter Jesse Saint John.

“Got My Number” is produced by Aaron Joseph, Jussifer, and Dr. Luke. Though the track has four credited songwriters besides Petras, Saint John actually is not one of them.

Petras sings Saint John’s number on the song’s sexually charged first verse:

949-331-0609
Call me up, call me up, for a good time
I be waiting up for ya
Baby, I'ma sex it up for ya
Got a little something, something for ya

Saint John worked heavily with Petras on her project Turn off the Light, Vol. 1. He wrote on four sings: “In the Next Life,” “Close Your Eyes,” “Turn off the Light,” and “Tell Me It’s a Nightmare.”

Saint John joked on Twitter about the messages he’s been receiving, many apparently putting a spin on the lyrics of Petras' “Heart to Break.”

Recently, Solange gave out a phone number for fans to call so they could hear a song snippet. The number she used originally belonged to the rapper Mike Jones, who made it into a catchphrase in his early music. In 2017, Logic released a song about struggling with depression and mental health issues titled “1-800-273-8255,” which is the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

Those sorts of phone numbers are found more commonly in music than personal numbers like Petras gives out. One of the most famous numbers ever used in a song comes from “867-5309/Jenny,” the 1981 hit by Tommy Tutone, which led people all over the country to receive calls from strangers. One woman even said she received 22,000 calls in four days.

In 2018, Petras appeared on Genius' series Verified to break down the lyrics of her single “I Don’t Want It At All.”
