He drops references to Greek mythology and the Book of Jonah.

Irish singer-songwriter Hozier dropped his new single, “Movement,” today, after previewing the song during his concerts for the last several months. The self-penned track, which Hozier co-produced alongside Markus Dravs, serves as the first official taste of his upcoming sophomore album. The project is set to be Hozier’s first full-length release since he broke out with his self-titled album in 2014, although he did put out the Nina Cried Power EP earlier this year.

On the track, Hozier references the Hebrew Book of Jonah, where a man survives being swallowed by a giant fish:

You are a call to motion
There all of you a verb in perfect view
Like Jonah on the ocean
When you move, I’m moved

He also references Atlas, the titan in Greek mythology who was condemned to hold the universe on his back for eternity:

You, you’re Atlas in his sleeping
And when you move, I’m moved

Hozier’s sophomore album, which remains untitled, is set to drop sometime in early 2019.
