Joey Bada$$ Previews Multiple Unreleased Songs & Hints At A New Album

He raps about the fabled “King of New York” crown on one track.

Joey Bada$$ hasn’t released an album since ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$ 2017, but it looks like this year is shaping up to be a big one for the Brooklyn rapper. He recently appeared on “Left Hand,” the first single from the upcoming album by rap supergroup Beast Coast, and now he’s previewing more unreleased music. In the first episode of his tour vlog, “The Life I Live,” Joey shared snippets of multiple new songs and hinted that another Joey album is in the works, too.

“New album, almost done bro,” he says to A$AP Rocky in the video’s opening moments, and further hinted at a project in an Instagram caption. “Might be a few album snippets in there,” he wrote.

The video follows Joey as he travels to Dubai, Australia, New Zealand, and more, and includes tour footage as well as studio sessions for the Beast Coast album in Atlanta. On the final snippet previewed in the video, Joey can be heard rapping:

I don’t jot this, it’s off the top of my spirit
I spit it toxic, niggas can’t get near it
Fuck the king of New York, nigga I’m the king period

He previously rapped about the fabled “King of New York” crown on last year’s XXXTENTACION collaboration, “King’s Dead (Freestyle),” clowning 6ix9ine for trying to claim the throne.

Beast Coast’s album doesn’t have a release date yet, but seems likely to drop before the group starts its US tour in mid-April. Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and The Underachievers all contribute to the project.

Meanwhile, there’s no official announcement about Joey’s next solo album yet, but the rapper seems to have been hard at work on new music. Fans will have to wait and see what 2019 brings for the Brooklyn MC.
