Joji Drops “Can’t Get Over You” & Announces His Debut Album ‘Ballads 1’

88rising-backed singer Joji linked up with producer Clams Casino for his new song “Can’t Get Over You” today, the latest single from his upcoming debut album. In addition to dropping the track, Joji announced the title (Ballads 1) and release date (October 28) for the project. “Can’t Get Over You” offers Joji’s take on heartbreak, and also features additional production from Thundercat and Roget.

Although the song’s video is lighthearted, it features some dark lyrics about dealing with loss:

Tell me more I got a box cutter with your name on it
Tell me more I can’t stay this long on the same topic
I don’t know you, why would I fall in love with you?
I don’t have no social cues
I’m all for you

Ballads 1 will be Joji’s first full-length album, and the first project he’s released since dropping the deluxe edition of his In Tongues EP back in February. Joji recently linked up with Genius to break down “Yeah Right,” a cut off the new Ballads 1 project:
