Jay Rock Takes A Victory Lap On His New Single “Win”

Kendrick Lamar lends a hand with some ad-libs.

Although Jay Rock has released just one other song so far in 2018, he’s already celebrating on his new single “Win.” The track is produced by Boi-1da and features ad-libs from Kendrick Lamar. Jay Rock has yet to offer clarification on where it will land, it seems likely that “Win” is a single from his upcoming third album.

After all, the first verse finds him rapping about this exact topic:

I walk in room, their eyes wide, wide, wide
Third album comin' soon, I’m glad y'all gon' die

As the title suggests, “Win” is a celebratory song featuring Jay Rock appreciating his success. The Watts, Calif. rapper earned his first Billboard hit and Platinum plaque earlier this year thanks to his Kendrick and Future collaboration “King’s Dead,” which appeared on the soundtrack to the Marvel hit Black Panther. He’s also in the midst of TDE’s label-wide Championship tour, which he references on the second verse:

Championship goin' dumb
Nothin' to somethin', I won, bitch

Jay Rock’s last album 90059 dropped back in 2015, featuring a sequel to his Kendrick Lamar collaboration “Money Trees” and the Black Hippy track “Vice City.”
