Janice Dickinson Was “F*cking Offended” By Eminem’s Reference To Her On Boogie’s “Rainy Days”

“When I heard the lyrics, I didn’t know how to think or feel.”

Last month, Eminem spit a verse on “Rainy Days,” a cut off his Shady Records signee Boogie’s debut album, Everything’s For Sale. The song has since inspired some controversy. Bars about his legacy in rap music birthed memes, and now model Janice Dickinson revealed that she was “fucking offended” by Em’s reference to her on the track.

On “Rainy Days,” Em raps about Dickinson by using her last name as a sexually explicit play-on-words:

But when you got nothing to say except for the hand your dick is in
And if your plan’s to stick it in Janice Dickinson
Imagine if the Temazepam is kickin' in, it’s havin' you panic-stricken

In an interview with DailyMailTV, Dickinson explained that the context of the reference was offensive to her, but she also views the exposure as a an honor.

“It’s not nice to be dropped into a song in this context, but it’s phenomenal to be associated with Eminem in any way possible,” she said. “I think it’s referring to the recent Bill Cosby sexual abuse trial that I went to for Andrea Constand back in Philadelphia, and that I too was raped without consent back in 1982 by Bill Cosby, and all of those things came in to my head."

As Dickinson explained, Em’s reference left her questioning her own public perception. “I’m thinking, ‘Am I hot, or am I being put down for being a sexual abuse survivor?’” she asked.

“It took me years to go through that with therapy and now all of a sudden, this huge number one song, with a bullet, is on the radio. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a die hard Eminem number one fan, he’s a god and he writes legendary songs… But when I heard the lyrics, I didn’t know how to think or feel, and then I was offended. I was taken aback and offended. Offended because I have children, because I have four grandchildren and I thought, ‘What are my grandkids gonna think about me being in an Eminem song?’”

Although she wasn’t a fan of the song, Dickinson said she won’t let it affect her. “I have survived cancer, I’ve been to the Bill Cosby trial and faced my abuser, so when I heard this lyric, yes I was fucking offended, but I won’t let it bring me down: I’m Janice Dickinson,” she said, and encouraged Em and Boogie to include her in the music video.

Genius previously broke down the track:

This is hardly the first time a celebrity has taken issue with being mentioned in Eminem’s lyrics. He’s previously bashed celebrities like Lana Del Rey, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, and Miley Cyrus without having any previous connection to them. Based on the confrontational content of his 2018 album, Kamikaze, it seems like Eminem probably isn’t concerned about any backlash to his lyrics.
