The single follows Juice WRLD’s recent Marshmello collaboration, “Bye Bye.”

The stream of posthumous Juice WRLD releases continues today with “In My Head,” a new single that was initially teased earlier this week under the title “Rush Hour.” Produced by Tre Pounds, Max Lord, and Sheldon Ferguson, “In My Head” arrives two weeks after Juice WRLD’s “Bye Bye,” a collaboration with Marshmello. Fans are clearly still eager to hear from the late emo-rap icon, as the new track debuted inside the Top 5 of the Genius Top Songs chart.

With its warbling guitar licks and trap drums, “In My Head” is a classic Juice WRLD melding of rock and hip-hop. Lyrically, the song also covers familiar territory—namely Juice’s mental health struggles. (He died in December 2019 of a drug overdose.) In the chorus, which opens the song, Juice hopes weed and money will fix everything in his life.

Fill my lungs with ganja (ganja)
When it fill my brain with drama (Drama)
From my past, I have all this trauma (Trauma)
Getting cash, hope the racks solve my problems

Juice quickly realizes neither of these things have the desired effect. So he braces himself for more misery.

Yeah, it don’t work, now the pain’s worse (Pain’s worse)
Yeah, it’s gon’ hurt (Gon’ hurt)
Hope it all works out (All works out)

In the song’s refrain, Juice tries to express what it’s like to be locked inside the prison of his own mind. His constant use of “um” illustrates his inability to think clearly.

Um, I’m stuck in my head too much (I’m stuck in my—)
I’m stuck in my head, um (Head, um)
I’m stuck in my head too much (I’m stuck in my—)

In the first verse, Juice takes stock of all the miles he’s logged as a famous musician. And yet his demons remain forever on his tail.

Feels like I’m in hell, um
Shibuya to Belgium
Yeah, I seen it all
Came a long way, walkin’ limp from a crawl

The second and final verse finds Juice self-medicating with meaningless sex. This also leaves him feeling worse.

Broken machine, no, it won’t work (Won’t work)
But I get cash, so she gon’ twerk (Yeah)
Heartbreak Hotel (Yeah), leave a ho hurt (Oh, yeah)
’Cause I been hurt (Yeah), had a hole first (Oh, yeah)
