The Chicago rapper is ready to move on to his new material.

Juice WRLD broke out in a major way with “Lucid Dreams,” but he’s tired of performing the hit. The Chicago rapper spoke about the track in an interview with NME, explaining that he still plays it out of duty to his fans.

“[I hate it] with a passion. P-A-S-S-ion,” Juice WRLD told NME. “It’s getting tired to me. I still play it, but I’m glad I dropped the [new] album [Death Race for Love].”

The 20-year-old rapper also touched on the royalties lawsuit filed by Sting for sampling “Shape of My Heart” on “Lucid Dreams.” Juice WRLD claimed that Sting’s high praise for the song holds greater importance than losing a reported 85 percent share of publishing royalties.

“Money is gonna come regardless. If you doin’ this for money, people gonna be able to tell,” Juice WRLD said. “For me [it’s more important that] Sting said my music is beautiful, the fact that he performed my version of the song.”

Juice WRLD added that the reaction to “Lucid Dreams,” which has “really saved lives,” also makes up for losing income from the song.

“Lucid Dreams” started out as a SoundCloud hit before being officially released as a single in May 2018. A Cole Bennett-directed music video gave the track a huge boost, giving it the momentum to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song remains Juice WRLD’s most popular hit on Spotify to date, with more than 750 million streams.

The Interscope rapper followed up on the hit’s success with his debut studio album, Goodbye & Good Riddance, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Juice WRLD’s sophomore project, Death Race for Love, recently debuted at No. 1 on the chart, moving an impressive 165,000 album units during its opening week.
