Justin Bieber Joins Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee For A Remix Of “Despacito”

He sings in Spanish for the first time.

Justin Bieber surprised fans last night with the release of his new collab with Puerto Rican artists Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. Bieber hopped on the pair’s January track “Despacito” for an official remix. The original song, which is produced by Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengífo, is already a global hit, topping the charts in countries like Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico.

With the official remix, the duo has their sights set on the English-speaking U.S. market, where Spanish-language hits are notoriously hard to achieve. Bieber sings in both English and Spanish on the track, with the latter marking a first for him. On the song’s first verse, he sings:

Come on over in my direction
So thankful for that, it’s such a blessin', yeah
Turn every situation into Heaven, yeah
Oh, you are
My sunrise on the darkest day
Got me feelin' some kind of way

On the chorus, the Canadian pop star croons in Spanish:

Despacito
Quiero desnudarte a besos despacito
Firmo en las paredes de tu laberinto
Y hacer de tu cuerpo todo un manuscrito

The “Despacito” remix marks the first new Justin Bieber song since he linked up with Post Malone for “Deja Vu” back in September.
