Justin Timberlake Reunites With Country Star Chris Stapleton On His New Single “Say Something”

TImbaland, Danja, & 1800 or Nothin’ handle production.

Justin Timberlake unleashed his latest Man of the Woods single “Say Something” today, and it reunites him with country star Chris Stapleton. The duo previously collaborated on 2013’s “Drink You Away,” and later performed the song as a duet at the 2015 Country Music Awards. The track is produced by Timbaland, Danja, and 1500 or Nothin', falling in line with Timbaland’s history of country and Americana-style production for artists like Bubba Sparxxx and Brad Paisley.

The song is fairly light on lyrics, with the chorus making up a large portion of the track:

Everybody says “say something”
Say something, say something
Let’s say something, say something
I don’t wanna get caught up in the rhythm of it
When I can’t help myself, no, I can’t help myself, no, no

Stapleton does come in with a verse of his own later on:

Everyone knows all about my transgression
Still in my heart somewhere, in literally and harmony
You and me, tonight
Whoa, I hear them call my name

“Say Something” is the third single from Man of the Woods, following “Filthy” and “Supplies.” It falls more in line with the Americana-style music that many fans expected after seeing his album trailers. Man of the Woods is set to drop on February 2, just two days before Timberlake performs at the Super Bowl halftime show. The album will also feature Alicia Keys.
