OutKast Share New Animated Video For “Two Dope Boyz (In A Cadillac)”

‘ATLiens’ is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

OutKast’s 1996 album ATLiens is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week, and the duo is marking the occasion with a brand new animated video for the single “Two Dope Boyz (In A Cadillac).” The clip finds them cruising around the city and hanging on the front porch before being teleported into outer space to kick it with some extraterrestrials.

A vinyl and digital deluxe reissue of ATLiens is dropping on Friday, August 27, featuring 14 previously unreleased instrumental tracks and remastered mixes of every song. Production group Organized Noize are also hosting a live stream on Volume.com to discuss the project’s legacy.

Meanwhile, a new interactive ATLiens videogame is also on the way. The game will allow users to play as Big Boi and André 3000 as they battle aliens in Atlanta. A press release about the game did not specify a release date.

ATLiens served as OutKast’s second studio album, and was the first to truly prove their commercial might. After debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, it went on to achieve double-Platinum certification and produce hits like “Elevators (Me & You)”, “ATLiens”, and “Jazzy Belle.” Although “Two Dope Boyz (In A Cadillac) was never promoted as a single, it remains a fan favorite. The album is often cited amongst the greatest hip-hop records of all time.
