It’s the latest single off the rapper’s forthcoming album ‘It’s Only Me.’

Lil Baby is getting ready to release his third studio album, It’s Only Me, later this week, and in preparation, the Atlanta rapper has dropped a new single called “Heyy.” It’s currently perched in the Top 5 of the Genius Top Songs chart.

Produced by Harto, Hoops, and King LeeBoy, “Heyy” is a stormy-sounding minor key rumbler that’s actually got some pretty positive lyrics. It’s all about Lil Baby’s ability to overcome adversity, and in the opening lines of the first verse, he shrugs off some romantic problems he knows are temporary.

My favorite bitch just cut me off and she won’t even let me know the reason (Yeah)
It’s prolly one of her lil’ messy hatin’-ass friends bein’ evil
I ain’t stressin’ ’bout it, she’ll come around when she wanna eat it up

Later in the verse, Lil Baby describes some modifications he’s made to his Mercedes van and insists that he’s not one of these mumble rappers you’ve been hearing about.

I put Maybach seats in the Sprinter
Make sure everybody sit comfortable
You gotta really pay attention, I’m not mumblin’
She tryna have a good time, she wanna come with us

As the first verse draws to a close, Lil Baby turns his attention to the new generation of young people “wildin’ with no guidance.” He knows all about that life, but he’s much happier with his present situation.

I know how it feel to spin a opp
But it feel way better to count a million
I come from the bottom of the bottom
I shot right up through the fuckin’ ceilin’

Lil Baby continues celebrating his come-up in the chorus, and he’s not interested in partying alone.

Hey (Hey-hey-hey)
Everybody lit, can’t put our fire out (Hey-hey-hey, hey-hey-hey)
Hey (Hey-hey-hey)

Although Lil Baby has some money in his pockets, he hasn’t lost sight of what’s important. As he explains in the second verse, somebody raised him right.

Yeah, stay down, hustle hard until you come up
Take some, only when you need it
You won’t make it far bein’ greedy
My grandma taught me how to be a leader

As the second verse ends, Lil Baby speeds away in a Mercedes-Benz G-Class that’s been tricked out by the automotive tuning company Brabus. Don’t feel bad if you had to Google “Brabus.” Lil Baby’s operating on a whole other level.

Young turnt nigga, ain’t no holdin’ back
This a Brabus, bro, not a regular Wagon
I don’t kiss and tell, I ain’t into that
I don’t think I met a nigga colder yet, like

“Heyy” arrived alongside a music video directed by Ivan Berrios. In the clip, Lil Baby counts stacks of money, hangs around with Lil Baby clones, and performs atop a glass box in the ocean surrounded by alligators.
