The song was initially thought to be called “Neck On Froze.”

Only a few days after releasing their single “SPACE CADET” on SoundCloud, Lil Uzi Vert is back on the streaming platform with another new song, “I KNOW.” Both tracks are likely to appear on Uzi’s forthcoming RED & WHITE EP and soared into the upper reaches of the Genius Top Songs chart upon release. “I KNOW,” however, has been in the making for years. Fans first got a taste of the song back in 2017, when Uzi teased it on Instagram. The track was initially thought to be called “Neck On Froze” and was expected to appear on Luv Is Rage 2 but didn’t make the cut.

Produced by Sonny Digital, “I KNOW” opens with the chorus, where Uzi claims to have picked up more than a few things over the years. The rapper knows exactly what the ladies want, how trivial money is to one’s overall happiness, and how to deal with fame.

Ain’t shit changed, I know (Oh)
That money ain’t a thang, I know (I know what you really like)
Stay switching four lanes, I know
That this don’t mean a thing, I know (I know what you really like)
Not blind for the fame, I know
Look straight through the hate, I know (I know what you really like)
Run straight to the cake, I know (Woah)

On the first verse, Uzi continues dropping knowledge while keeping things fresh. The Philadelphia-born MC lives lavish in Saint Laurent clothes and Chanel shoes, and he keeps his neck icy with expensive chains—a line that inspired the song’s early title.

Saint Laurent on my clothes, double C my toes (Woah)
Ooh, neck on froze (Huh, huh), South Pole (Gang)
Got a girl in the North Pole (Pole), I know, cash rules (Pew)

On the second verse, Uzi focuses on what they know about love. They know to be patient, and that communication and loyalty are important.

Step back, patient, and wait my turn (Yeah)
I was the one, yeah, I was the one
Yeah, I was the one, yeah-yeah (Yeah)
I am not one to wait, so you gotta say when you ready (Ready)
You are disloyalty, so tell me when we go steady (Steady)

Later in the verse, Uzi even professes to know the things their girl tries to hide.

I know that you in disguise because the clothes, they are not tight (Woo, woo)
I know what you really like, I know what you really like (Hey)

Uzi has yet to announce the release date for RED & WHITE or confirm whether the EP will only be available on SoundCloud, but in the meantime, you can check out all the lyrics to “I KNOW” on Genius now.
