Fans are still reeling from the surprise release of Lil Uzi Vert’s long-awaited new album, Eternal Atake, after years of delays and confusion, but many have started to pick up on a nostalgic audio element on the project. Eternal Atake’s fifth song, “You Better Move,” features a glitchy beat that’s built around a sample of a beloved 2000s computer game: 3D Pinball for Windows – Space Cadet.
The beat, which is produced by Working On Dying affiliate Brandon Finessin, uses a sample of sound effects from the game:
3D Pinball for Windows – Space Cadet was included on several versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 2000, Windows ME, and Windows XP. It maintains a cult following to this day, with online tutorials about how to download and play it years after the company removed it due to unresolvable bug issues.
The game’s space theme fits with Uzi’s Eternal Atake, which features a UFO on the cover and skits about an alien abduction.
