Lil Yachty surprised fans on Tuesday night with a brand new remix of Katy Perry’s hit single “Chained to the Rhythm” featuring Skip Marley. The song, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 last month, is the first single from Perry’s upcoming fourth album, which remains untitled and without an official release date as of now.
The “BoatMix” features two new verses from Yachty, with the Sailing Team leader rapping about his rapid rise to stardom:

You’re the star of the scene now
Went from readin' magazines to bein' on the cover
Get up in the groove now
Let me see you move now
On the second verse, he spits:

Yachty is preparing for the release of his debut album, Teenage Emotions, sometime this year. His “Chained to the Rhythm” remix is unlikely to be included, but it represents his latest pop collaboration following songs with Charli XCX (“After the Afterparty”) and Carly Rae Jepsen (“It Takes Two”) in the past few months.
