Moxie Raia landed a deal after her cover of Big Sean’s “Beware" went viral three years ago. In the time since, she dropped her 931 mixtape with features from Pusha T, Wyclef Jean and Post Malone—and opened up for Justin Bieber on his Purpose tour.
The rising star stopped by Genius to break down the meaning behind her Pusha T collaboration “On My Mind,” which came together while her and producer M-Phazes were on vacation in Bali.
“This song is really about a time in my life where I was really, really inspired,” she tells Genius. “To the point where I couldn’t even sleep at night. I would lay in my bed and I would have a notebook with a pen and paper next to my bed and all night I would wake up and think of these ideas.”
