Just three days after gifting fans his sophomore studio album, Cottonwood 2, NLE Choppa returned with the deluxe edition of the LP, which includes nine additional tracks. One of those songs, “SHAKE IT,” has climbed its way into the Genius Top Songs chart since its release.
“SHAKE IT” marks the first time NLE has linked up with U.K. drill rapper Russ Millions, who broke onto the scene in 2018 with his hit single “Gun Lean.” The pair trade spitfire lines over a high-energy beat produced by Sebz Beats and Uanay.
The track opens with the hook, where NLE makes his presence in any room undeniable. That notoriety isn’t always a good thing, though.

Russ Millions steps in for the second half of the hook, where his fame makes him especially popular with the ladies.

NLE also kicks off the first verse, where he reiterates what happens to all of his foes.

On the second verse, Russ also doubles down on his earlier message about his reputation among women. If they adhere to one simple rule, he’ll make their nights worthwhile, much like R&B songstress Kehlani sings about on her 2019 hit “Nights Like This.”
