ScHoolboy Q Announces The Title & Release Date For His New Album

‘CrasH Talk’ drops next week.

After dropping two singles over the past month, TDE rapper ScHoolboy Q finally revealed the title and release date for his new album with a short video trailer today. Titled CrasH Talk, Q’s album fifth album is set to drop on Friday, April 26. He coupled the announcement with a snippet of an unreleased song that appears to feature vocals from Kendrick Lamar:

On the unreleased track, Q spits about counting cash:

Straight like this, I need my money in a bag
Oh yeah, I be counting dead men, putting bodies in the safe
52 hunnid, one swipe, throw it away
Aye, whip, whip, whip till it’s stain on ya

Q later revealed the full tracklist and cover art, with features from YG, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla $ign, 6LACK, Kid Cudi, and Lil Baby.

CrasH Talk will be ScHoolboy Q’s first album since Blank Face LP in 2016. Q has been relatively quiet since then, releasing just a handful of features over the past three years. He originally started teasing the album in 2018, but pushed back its release date following the unexpected death of his friend and collaborator Mac Miller.

In a 2017 interview with Zane Lowe, Q explained how CrasH Talk would represent a different side of himself.

“It’s more so my life after I made it to the point of ScHoolboy Q. Like I gave you me, but I never gave you the other side of me. The father, the dude that’s actually happy, the dude that doesn’t be in the hood just hanging out,” he said. “The dude that’s trying to put his homies in positions now. I’m not a deadbeat father anymore… It’s just a whole different Q.”
