“I’m not lying this time.”

ScHoolboy Q took nearly three years between the release of 2016’s Blank Face LP and 2019’s CrasH Talk, but fans won’t have to wait nearly as long for his next release. During a recent show, the California rapper revealed that he plans to release a new project in 2020.

“I'ma drop a whole ‘nother album this year I promise you that. I’m not lying this time,” he said. “I been working on this album since CrasH Talk came out. I’ve been working nonstop and I'ma constantly work because I’m hungry and I love to create and every time I come out and see my fans it makes me appreciate this shit way more.”

CrasH Talk dropped in April 2019, spawning popular tracks like “Numb Numb Juice” and “CHopstix” with Travis Scott.

It could shape up to be a busy year for ScHoolboy’s label TDE. Fans are also waiting on releases from SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, and maybe even Kendrick Lamar. If Q is set to join the fray, it could be the label’s biggest year in a while.
