Lana Del Rey earned some of the best reviews of her career and multiple Grammy nominations with 2019’s Norman F-cking Rockwell! Today, she delivers its follow-up, Chemtrails Over the Country Club. She first teased the album with the release of “Let Me Love You Like A Woman” and the album’s title track ahead of the full album.
“It’s funny, the record was Midwestern-sounding before I even went to the Midwest,” Lana told Jack Antonoff about the album in an Interview Magazine chat. “What’s interesting about having a true muse—and it sounds kind of ridiculous—is that you’re at the whim of it. When I’m singing about Arkansas, even I’m wondering why. The one way I would describe the Midwest, Oklahoma in particular, is that it’s not cooked or oversaturated, and there’s still space to catch that white lightning.”
