Madonna just dropped her fourteenth studio album, Madame X. This is her first full-length since 2015’s Rebel Heart, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
The Material Girl’s star-studded list of features includes Maluma, Quavo, Swae Lee, and Anitta. But the liner notes are also stocked with some big names, including Diplo, Pharrell Williams, and Mike Dean.
“I feel that my record, because Lisbon is a melting pot of cultures, musically, from Angola to Guinea-Bissau to Spain to Brazil to France,” she said in an interview with MTV International. “I had the pleasure and honor to meet musicians from all of these places and be inspired by their music and let it influence me. And that’s how all these songs came to be… We were connected before Instagram, people.”
