Niall Horan is back with his sophomore album, Heartbreak Weather. The tracklist includes the previously released cuts, “Nice to Meet Ya,” “Put a Little Love on Me,” and “No Judgement.” This is his first LP since 2017’s Flicker.
The former One Direction member worked with the likes of Daniel Bryer, Greg Kurstin, Jamie Scott, Julian Bunetta, Noah Conrad, and Tobias Jesso Jr. on the production side.
He talked about the inspiration behind his lead single, “Nice to Meet Ya,” in a recent episode of Genius' Verified"
“I played about I’d say July, August last year when I was on tour and then kind of just play something that I liked or sing a melody into a phone,” he said. “But it came from the riff and I would just record it on my voice notes and then when it came to go into the show, I was kind of like in the studio and we’re having one of those days where nothing was actually coming together at all, couldn’t think of anything. On one of those writer’s block days, tried about five different ideas and nothing really was happening. And then I kind of had to listen through some bits and pieces and then I just start playing that riff then came it hard, came across that riff, played the main riff in the song and it kind of kicked off from there really.”
