Tame Impala just returned with its fourth album, The Slow Rush. The tracklist includes the previously released songs, “Lost In Yesterday,” “It Might Be Time,” and “Borderline.” This is the act’s first LP since 2015’s Currents.
Naturally, the one-man band’s album credits can be attributed to production mastermind Kevin Parker. In terms of the individualistic recording process, this is a return to form for the “Solitude Is Bliss” songsmith, who’s been branching out by hopping in the studio with major acts like Travis Scott, Mark Ronson, and Lady Gaga.
While Parker meant to drop an album ahead of his headlining slot at Coachella last April, he ended up pushing back the release date. “I [had] told myself that all I wanted to do was put out an album, and I didn’t care if it wasn’t as good. I was happy to sacrifice quality for timing,” he said in his cover story for Billboard. “[But] I just knew in my heart that it wasn’t ready.”
