The 1975 is back today with Notes On A Conditional Form. The band’s fourth album runs 22 tracks total, and rounds up half-a-dozen singles released over the past two years. The album was pushed back several times before the band landed on this release date.
Notes On A Conditional Form started coming together at the same time as the group’s last album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. The group discussed the project in a 2018 Guardian interview, saying they drew inspiration from “emotional shit [that] happens at night.” They offered a similar explanation to The New York Times, with Healy describing the sound as “in cars smoking weed, Burial and McDonalds and the M62 and Manchester—just England!”
