“Because realistically speaking, if you leave it up to my foolish ass, we’ll be here quite some time.”

SZA just confirmed that a “little project” is on its way during one of her headlining stops in Australia.

“I’ll tell you the true tea,” she told the crowd. “I’m probably gonna drop a little project before my album so I can just get it out of the way. Because realistically speaking, if you leave it up to my foolish ass, we’ll be here quite some time.”

The singer may be alluding to how she cycled through 150 to 200 songs during the making of Ctrl until someone took her hard drive away.

“The ones that you guys know are the ones that I’ll be dropping,” she added. “If you research what you should know, then you’ll know."

More recently, the singer also teased a music video for “Brace Yourself”:

In October 2017, she also said she was “making an album with Tame Impala and Mark Ronson.” But it’s unclear where those collaborations will end up.

Earlier in 2017, Genius asked SZA about the release of an A entry in the trilogy that includes the previously released S and Z EPs. “It’s not far,” she responded. “That’s already done. That’s not something that I have to do.” But she didn’t give any further details on what she plans to do with it.

It’s not like fans have had a complete drought of material following the 2017 release of Ctrl. She collaborated with labelmate Kendrick Lamar on “All the Stars,” Cardi B on “I Do,” and both The Weeknd and Travis Scott on “Power Is Power.”
